Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily and accurately align an optical fiber with the end face of a waveguide device in the case of connecting the optical fiber to the end face of the waveguide device which is cut obliquely in order to reduce the coupling loss of light. CONSTITUTION:The end face 16 of a waveguide device 10 is cut obliquely and a step part 20 is provided beside the waveguide 12 of an end face 16 cut obliquely. An optical fiber 18 is arranged on the end face 20 of the waveguide device 10 at a specified angle in a state where the end of the optical fiber 18 abuts on the step part 20, and the optical fiber 18 is connected to the waveguide device 10.
