Title:
METHOD FOR STARTING POURING OF MOLTEN METAL INTO MOLD FROM TUNDISH FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1190590
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent the dislocation between a stopper and a pouring hole at the bottom part of a tundish caused by the thermal deformation of the tundish body and the thermal deformation of a stopper arm.

At the time of pouring molten metal into a mold from a tundish 1 for continuous casting, the pouring hole is closed by hanging down the stopper 4 for closing an upper opening hole of the pouring hole 3 provided at the bottom part of the tundish 1 from the upper part of the tundish 1. In such a condition, the molten metal is poured into the tundish 1 from a ladle, and when the molten metal quantity in the tundish 1 becomes a prescribed quantity, the pouring hole is opened by hanging up the stopper 4 upward, and the molten metal is started to pour into the mold.
