Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide such a method and structure of joining discharge lamps in a display device that a pitch between outside electrodes at the connection of glass bulbs is made constant and the electrodes are widened.
CONSTITUTION: V-shaped second grooves 9 are provided at the rear ends of all discharge lamps 1, to insert into the V-shaped second groove 9 at the rear end 2b of one discharge lamp 1 the end 2a of the other discharge lamp 1. In this way, a pitch between outside electrodes at the connection of the discharge lamps 1 is made constant and the electrodes are widened. In addition, the discharge lamps 1 can be easily drawn to the front side for maintenance.
