To provide means to efficiently produce a copolyester composed of 3-hydroxybutyric acid and lactic acid.SOLUTION: According to a method herein, a plasmid comprising a yliH gene promoter, a treA gene promoter, or a dps gene promoter and a gene involved in the synthesis of a copolyester composed of 3-hydroxybutyric acid and lactic acid is used to transform microbes, which are then used to produce the copolyester.SELECTED DRAWING: None
