Abstract:
To provide a method for simply synthesizing peracetic acid having difficulty in handling by using a solid acid as a catalyst.
An inorganic peroxide is reacted with acetic acid using the solid acid 3 as the catalyst to synthesize peracetic acid. Since the catalyst is readily separated from peracetic acid because the catalyst is the solid acid and the reaction is advanced at a room temperature, an on-site synthesis is carried out. Especially when hydrogen peroxide is used as the inorganic peroxide and the hydrogen peroxide is electrochemically produced by an adjacent electrolytic cell 7, preservation and transportation of relatively dangerous hydrogen peroxide are not needed.
