Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate useful text document summary with high accuracy by a text summarizer using a suitability measurement technology and a potential semantic factoring technology.
SOLUTION: General text summary is generated by rating and extracting sentences from an original document. Extensive cover of the document contents and lowering of redundancy are simultaneously achieved by generating the summary from mutually different sentences rated high. In one embodiment, the conventional IR technology is applied in a particular method to carry out generation of the summary. Measurement of the compatibility, selection of the sentence and deletion of terms are successively repeated. In a substitute embodiment, a singular value decomposition method is applied to term against sentence matrixes so that all sentences from documents are projected to the singular vector space. The text summarizer selects the sentence having the maximum index value in the most significant singular value vector as a part of text summary.
