Title:
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MEASURING SAMPLE AND FIRST SUBSTANCE IN AMBIENT SECOND SUBSTANCE BY NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3782147
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and system for detecting a first substance in a second substance, desirably for specifying diamond in kimberlite.
SOLUTION: A first substance, e.g. diamond, has a very long spin lattice relaxing time T1 on the order of several hours. In order to detect the first substance quickly, generation of magnetization of a specified nucleus, e.g. 13C, abundant only in the first substance is shortened and then nuclear magnetic resonance is measured for that nucleus. Shortening is performed at a preprocessing section 12 and measurement is performed at an analyzing section 13. Shortening and measurement are performed in magnetic fields B01, B02 of different field strength.
