To provide a method and a device for removing a retention bolt of a jet pump by remote control while being positioned in a boiling water reactor pressure vessel.
A temporarily attaching welding part for joining a head part of a retention bolt to a retention clip is ruptured by using a fluid pressure tool 40. A socket 52 of the fluid pressure tool having the depth equal to the length of at least the retention bolt is arranged so that the retention bolt can enter the socket as the bolt is loosened while keeping the end of the socket in a state of contacting with the retention clip. The separated retention bolt is retained by a ball locking part of plural spring loads of the socket. The fluid pressure tool is thereafter positioned in a retention bolt extracting bucket installed on and suspended by a rim of a shroud. The extracting bucket has a freely turning swinging stand having a form-engaging recessed part for guiding the fluid pressure tool in the expected desired direction and a pin for pushing out the retention bolt captured by remote control of the fluid pressure tool to the outside of the socket.
