Abstract:
To provide a method for treating disorders of central nervus system caused by infection with human immunodeficiency virus type I (HIV-I) and suppressing death of CNS (central nervous system) neuron of a patient infected with the human immunodeficiency virus.
A compound for suppressing increase in intracellular free Ca++ ion concentration in the CNS of a patient corresponding to gp120 is administered to the patient in a concentration effective for suppression. Thus, dementia, myelopathy and loss of eyesight in human immunodeficiency virus infection are reduced.
