PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating a high temperature exhaust gas, by which the high temperature exhaust gas is effectively cooled, volatile and melting components are solidified while effectively preventing sticking of the volatile and melting components to the inner wall of a temperature controlling tower, and solid dust and the dust of the volatile and medium components are effectively separated and recovered, thereby the recycle of the recovered dust can be accelerated.
SOLUTION: The method of treating the high temperature exhaust gas comprises blowing the high temperature exhaust gas exhausted from a high temperature gas generation source into the temperature controlling tower having an expanding stage section where the diameter becomes larger toward the downstream side of the high temperature exhaust gas, spraying cooling water or the gas flow of the blown high temperature exhaust gas to control the temperature of the blown high temperature exhaust gas, discharging the solid dust separated from the high temperature exhaust gas by controlling the temperature to the outside of the temperature controlling tower so as to recover the solid dust, and recovering the dust of the volatile and melting components contained in the exhaust gas discharged from the temperature controlling tower after controlling temperature using bag filter.
