Abstract:
To provide a method for treating a methanation catalyst that can suppress catalyst performance from deteriorating.SOLUTION: A method for treating a methanation catalyst of the present invention includes heat-treating a methanation catalyst by supplying oxygen gas containing oxygen to a reactor containing a methanation catalyst containing nickel as a catalyst component to oxidize the nickel, in the oxidation step, the oxygen gas is supplied to the reactor such that oxygen is supplied in a supply speed within the range of 0.0213 mmol-O2/sec g-cat. to 0.0638 mmol-O2/sec g-cat. on 1 g of the methanation catalyst, and by supplying the oxygen gas to the reactor, the methanation catalyst is heat-treated fro 30 min. or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
