Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method in which a flame jet is used to treat an oil- containing sludge without fail to obtain a treated waste which meets the laudfill standards, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A jet burner 5 is inserted into a tank 1 from its top and mounted therein around the center thereof. A sludge feed pipe 6 is inserted into the tank 1 and fixed so that the front edge of an oil-containing sludge mass meets and collides with the flame jet from the burner 5 around that center. By the action of the jet, the front edge is reduced into fine diffused particles. The water and oil are separated from the solid matter, and discharged through an outlet together with the burnt gas.
