Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an economical and sure method of accurately determining partial hardening of a steel edge of a ski or similar goods thereto, irrespective of the length thereof. CONSTITUTION: A ski S having a steel edge K to be hardened mounted thereon is supported on a support roller 7 and pressed by a pressing roller 8. At both sides of the ski S, a laser or a plasma head is disposed as a heating means 9. This heating means 9 is carried onto a support structure 10 by a microprocessor-controlled robot and moved only in a constant direction with a space between the steel edge K and the heating means 9 ensured constant without regard to the shape of the ski S, to be rapidly heated, irradiating an energy beam, which is accurately controlled from the heating means 9. At this time, it is preferable to provide a liquid-cooled cooling body in order to prevent excessive heating.
