Abstract:
To provide a method of treating steelmaking slag produced by a molten iron pretreatment or a decarburization treatment, by which iron or valuable metals are recovered from metal oxides, a reaction to reduce f-CaO is prompted and generation of CO2 due to combustion of a reducing agent is reduced.
The method of treating the steelmaking slag includes: adding an SiO2-containing substance and a substance for reduction into the molten steelmaking slag charged to a reaction vessel; and modifying and reducing the steelmaking slag. A waste plastic having K value (=(H-O/2)/C) of 1 is used as a part or the whole of the substance for the reduction.
