To provide a method for taking out a produced oil by thermally decomposing a waste polystyrene foam having the surface to which affixed materials such as label, tape, etc., are attached.
The method for treating a waste polystyrene foam comprises grinding a waste polystyrene foam by a grinder 1 with affixed materials such as label, tape, etc., attached to the surface as it is, pushing a scraping body 2 to the ground material, mashing it and pulverizing the mashed material together with the affixed materials, then dissolving the pulverized material with a treatment liquid in a dissolution tank 3, thermally decomposing the solution by a thermal decomposition apparatus 4 to obtain a produced oil. The affixed materials 5 are properly taken out as a residue remaining at the bottom of the thermal decomposition apparatus 4 to the outside.
