Abstract:
To provide methods for prophylaxis, management and treatment of specific diseases modulated by inhibition of enzyme malonyl-coenzyme A decarboxylase (malonyl-CoA decarboxylase, MCD) by administration of a composition containing as an active ingredient a compound represented by Formula I.
The invention relates to methods for prophylaxis, management and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, acidosis, cancers, and obesity through administration of a compound which inhibits malonyl-coenzyme A decarboxylase activity. Further, the invention includes within its scope the novel process for the preparation of specific compounds.
