To realize a simple efficient treatment process of waste water by a method wherein the waste water containing ethanolamine is treated with microbe under coexistence of nitrite ion and/or nitrate ion under anaerobic conditions, and the ethanolamine is eliminated by decomposition.
Waste water (a) which contains ethanolamine and hydrazine is introduced into a mixing tank 2 via a reserving tank 1. A neutralization agent (b) and a nutrition source (c) are added herein, and mixed. Mixed solution (d) coming from the mixing tank 2 is conducted to a biological decomposition tank 3. Herein the mixed solution (d) is mixed into microbe solution wherein hydrazine resistant ethanolamine decomposition denitrifying bacteria is a prefered species, and nitrite or nitrate (e) is added thereto. The ethanolamine is decomposed into nitrogen gas, water, carbonate gas, and ammonium ion with action of the microbe under coexistence of nitrite ion or nitrate ion under anaerobic conditions. After separating biological treating solution with precipitation, biological treating water (i) is conducted into a reaction tank 5, and treated with aeration to decompose the hydrazine.
