Abstract:

PURPOSE: To secure the sealing action of a side weir and to effectively prevent uneven wearing in relating to the improvement of a method for pushing the side weir to the end surfaces of cooling drums in a twin drum continuous casting.
CONSTITUTION: In the twin drum continuous casting method constituting a continuous casting mold with a pair of the cooling drums whose rotary shafts are arranged horizontally and mutually in parallel and which are arranged at the prescribed interval and a pair of the side weirs pushed to the end surfaces of the cooling drums at the front surfaces by pushing force loaded to the back surfaces, three pieces of the pushing mechanisms loading the pushing force to each of the total three positions of one position at the lower part and two positions at the upper part of the back surface of the side weir are forwardly displaced to the direction of the pushing force in a fixed speed at the same time.
