Abstract:

PURPOSE: To determine the cause of vibration systematically and quantitatively and to take a countermeasure quickly by extracting the frequency characteristics based on the error data between the profile of a machined work and a profile data.
CONSTITUTION: A spindle 5 carrying a work 4 is rotary driven by a servo motor 1. Rotational speed of the motor 1 is feedback controlled through a closed loop formed of a pulse generator 6 and a control unit 7. A flat grinding wheel 8 is rotary driven by a motor 9 and wheel spindle stock 10 is advanced/ retracted in the X direction perpendicular to the rotational axis of the spindle 5 through a servo motor 11. The error between the profile of a machined work 4 and a profile data is measured and converted into an error generation data in relation to the machining time based on the angular speed data of the spindle 5. Subsequently, the frequency characteristics are extracted from a converted time-error data and a vibration generated during the machining process is specified.
