Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for upgrading the firmware of a radio communication equipment and to provide the method for aiding upgrade of the firmware in a base station.
SOLUTION: The method has a step where a user identification name of a radio communication equipment and information required for upgrading the firmware are sent to a base station, a step where the radio communication equipment is set to the firmware upgrademode depending on the acceptance of the upgrade by the base station resulting from the received information, and a step where the base station upgrades the firmware of the radio communication equipment by means of a radio signal. Thus, the development and mass- production time of the radio communication equipment is reduced by using radio communication for upgrading the firmware. The competitiveness in the communication market is ensured as the time is more reduced, and pre-service or the post-service is attained at a low cost in matching with the modification of functions of the communication equipment and when the cost and the man- hours are considerably reduced.
