Abstract:
PURPOSE: To use a specific compound as an active ingredient for controlling typical organisms of the order Acari such as mites, ticks and spider miles in animals and plants or on the animals and plants and insects. CONSTITUTION: A compound represented by formula I [R1 to R5 are each H, a halogen, a 1-4C alkyl, a 1-4C haloalkyl and a haloalkoxy having 1-9 halogens, a 1-3C alkylthio, nitro, cyano, phenyl, phenoxy, etc.; R is a 1-10C alkyl, a 3-6C cycloalkyl or a 3-6C cycloalkyl-1-4C alkyl], e.g. 1-methyl-3-(4-chlorothiobenzoyl) thiourea as an active ingredient and a solution, a granule, a dust, etc., are prepared by adding a carrier or an auxiliary thereto for use in controlling typical organisms of the order Acari or insects. The compound represented by formula I is preferably obtained by reacting, e.g. a compound represented by formula II including a new compound with a compound represented by formula III, preferably in the presence of an acid acceptor, etc., in an organic solvent.
