To provide a method for washing solids polluted with organic halogen compounds which controls the deterioration of a washing solvent used for extracting the organic halogen compounds and can well wash solids different in pollution degree in one washing apparatus.

A necessary frequency of an extraction operation is set up corresponding to the pollution density of the organic halogen compounds in the polluted solids, and the extraction operation of the necessary frequency is performed by each of extraction tanks 1a-1c. A separation solvent is supplied gradually from an extraction tank of a larger extraction operation frequency to an extraction tank of smaller by one extraction operation frequency to do the extraction operation. A new washing solvent is supplied to an extraction tank of the final round of the extraction operation. The separation solvent discharged from an extraction tank of the first round of the extraction operation is transited to a decomposition process 11, and the organic halogen compounds in the solvent is detoxified. The extraction operation is performed while the detoxified solvent is made the new washing solvent to be supplied to the extraction tank of the final round of the extraction operation.
