In fixing the winding start end 1A of the filament body 1 to the take-up bobbin 6 in this method of winding the filament body 1 by receiving the filament body 1 fed from an appropriate supply source and winding the filament body 1 onto the take-up bobbin 6 while controlling tension to be constant by a dancer pulley device 4, the filament body 1 is once held (5) upstream of the take-up bobbin 6 to stop the inflow of the filament body 1 to the take-up bobbin 6, and then the winding start end 1A is fixed by a suitable fixing means 7. The filament body accumulated upstream of the held part within the inflow stop time is once stored in a filament storage device 3, and then the holding and fixing (5) is released to start the winding rotation of the take-up bobbin 6, while discharging the stored filament body in the filament storage device 3. Throughout the whole process of storage and discharge, the filament body tension detected by the dancer pulley device 4 is controlled to be held constant.
