To provide a method for X-ray inspection by which the resolution of scanned images of transmitted X-rays can be improved and X-ray inspections can be performed stably.

In the method for X-ray inspection, a container 3 loaded on a vehicle 2 is inspected with X-rays by letting the vehicle 2 pass through a shielded room 4. A passage 6 for carriage is formed below the room 4 and rails 8 are laid on the passage 6. At the same time, a carrying carriage 10 which runs on the rails 8 is provided. The vehicle 2 is caused to pass through the shielding room 4 at a uniform speed while the front wheels 9 of the vehicle 2 to be subjected to X-ray inspection are raised by means of the carriage 10 and, at the same time, X-rays are projected upon the vehicle 2 at regular intervals.
