Abstract:
A mold assembly (1001) for use in forming a component (80) having an outer wall (94) of a predetermined thickness (104) is provided. The mold assembly (1001) includes a mold (1000) that includes an interior wall (1002) that defines a mold cavity (1003) within the mold. The mold assembly (1001) also includes a jacketed core (980) positioned with respect to the mold. The jacketed core includes a jacket (700) that includes an outer wall (793). The jacketed core also includes a core (800) positioned interiorly of the jacket outer wall. The jacket separates a perimeter (806) of the core from the mold interior wall by the predetermined thickness, such that the outer wall is formable between the perimeter and the interior wall.
