Abstract:
To provide a performance evaluation device and method each of which allows for acquisition of a test result having high correlation with performance exerted at actual vehicle traveling time.SOLUTION: The performance evaluation device method for evaluating the performance of an elastic material including rubber or elastomer is provided that includes: a step S2 of straining a test piece composed of an elastic material thereby forming a low-density region inside the test piece; imaging steps S3, S4 of photographing the low-density region inside the test piece; measurement steps S5, S6 of measuring the ratio of the low-density region occupying the test piece using the photographed data; and evaluation steps S7, S8 of evaluating the performance of the elastic material on the basis of the ratio of the low-density region per unit amount of strain applied to the test piece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
