Abstract:
To provide a method and an apparatus for treating or preventing a disease such as hyperproliferative and cardiovascular disorders or for ameliorating the effects of stress, by recovering normal ion concentration level in living body cells with an electric current or an electrical field.
The method applies an external electric field which generate mean induced current density of approximately 0.001 mA/m2 to 600 mA/m2 on cell or tissue to modulate at least one G-protein-conjugated receptor contained in the cell and change the ionic concentration in the cell.
