Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [one of R1 and R2 is group of formula II (n is 0 or 1; m is 1 or 2) and the other is OH].

EXAMPLE: N-(L-amethopteryl) L-cysteine.

USE: A remedy for cancer.

PREPARATION: The objective compound can be produced by reacting methotrexate of formula III with a disulfide compound of formula IV (X1 and X2 are methyl or benzyl) in the presence of a dehydrative condensation agent and subjecting the reaction product to alkali treatment and then reduction reaction.
