PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound, excellent in sensitivity, durability and stability and useful as electrophotographic photoreceptors, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I [X is chlorine, bromine or iodine; n is 0-4], e.g. a compound expressed by formula II. Furthermore, the compound is obtained by reacting a hydroxygallium phthalocyanine crystal with methanol.
