Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and industrially advantageously obtain a highly purified glycolic acid for a raw material of a medicine or a cosmetic, etc., by affecting a hydrolase derived from a microorganism belonging to genus Rhodococcus or genus Gordorla to glycolonitrile.
SOLUTION: A highly purified glycolic acid for a raw material, etc., of a medicine or a cosmetic is efficiently and industrially advantageously obtained by using a fungus collected by centrifuging a cultured solution wherein a microorganism belonging to genus Rhodococcus (e.g. Rhodococcus rhodochrous ATCC 33025 stock) or a microorganism belonging to genus Gordona ]e.g. Gordona terrae MA-1 stock (FERM-BP-4535)[ is cultured in a medium as a hydrolase derived from the microorganism, adding the resultant fungus to a 50mM potassium phosphate buffer solution containing 1wt.% of glycolonitrile (pH7.0), suspending, reacting at 30°C for 15hr, centrifuging, removing the fungus and recovering the reactant from the supernatant.
