To provide a microcapsule with resistance to solvents, acids and alkalis and a method for manufacturing this microcapsule.
The manufacturing method comprises the below-mentioned steps (1) to (9). (1) A capsule slurry made of a mixture of a large dia. microcapsule precursor and water is prepared. (2) A dispersion phase of a uniform mixture of styrene and normal butyl acrylic acid, is prepared. (3) A continuous phase is prepared by dissolving Neogene SC-F, Neugene EA-120 and ammonium persulfate in water. (4) An O/W emulsion is formulated by adding the dispersion phase to the continuous phase and stirring these phases by a homogenizer. (5) A fine particle slurry of a styrene acrylic particle with 0.1 μm particle diameter and 118°C softening point, is obtained by reacting the O/W emulsion at 80°C for eight hours with the help of an ordinary stirrer. (6), (7) and (8) A suspension of the capsule slurry to which a flocculant is added, is dripped to a suspension of the fine particle slurry, and the styrene acrylic particle is bonded to a capsule wall 2 of the large dia. microcapsule precursor 1 and flocculated. (9) A styrene acrylic resin film is formed by stirring the suspensions at 90°C for 5 hours.
