Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of operating a microchannel chemical reactor which enables precise temperature control.SOLUTION: This invention provides a method of operating a microchannel chemical reactor. In the microchannel chemical reactor, a reaction channel 51 and a heat exchange channel 61 are laminated, through solid walls 70 and 72 of the channels, and are in thermal contact with each other. In the microchannel chemical reactor, a reactant flows from an inlet 53 to an outlet 55, and a reaction chamber 52 having a reaction catalyst 75 is defined in the reaction channel, while a heat exchange fluid flows from a fluid inlet 63 to a fluid outlet 65. The microchannel chemical reactor is used to transmit heat in sufficient quantity from the reaction channel to the heat exchange channel.
