Title:
MICROMECHANICAL ACCELERATION SWITCH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000155127
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To easily adapt a switch to a different application by connecting an electrode element that is mechanically connected to an area near a proof mass to a housing with a spring element rotatably and elastically bringing a rod into contact with the housing.

A switch housing 5 is connected to an electrode element 4 via a torsion spring element 3, the electrode element 4 is provided with a thin rod 1, and the rod 1 is provided with an electrical contact 6 at its outer end part. A proof mass 2 is arranged so that its center of gravity is located at a constant distance from the turning axis of the electrode element 4, and the turning axis is prescribed by a spring element 3. When a switch receives acceleration movement with a component in a direction in parallel with the axis of the electrode element 4, the proof mass 2 and the electrode element 4 turn around the axis of the spring element 3, the rod 1 travels so that it approaches or is separated from a housing surface. When the acceleration exceeds a certain limit value, the contact 6 touches a corresponding contact region 7 of the housing 5 and outputs an electrical signal for indicating that the specific limit value has been exceeded.
