NEW MATERIAL:Bacillus rajurett having a fibrillation capability to ramie or jute improved by the presence of a vitamin composed of folic acid and/or pantothenic acid or their salts, minerals composed of Mo and/or Zn and amino acids composed of asparagine, Asp, Phe and Tyr. Shape, rod; mobility, positive; spore, positive; capsule, negative; Gram stainability, positive; affinity to oxygen, (slightly) aerobic; growth temperature, 5W55°C; etc.

USE: Microorganism for water-soaking of vegetables containing ramie fiber. It gives ultrafine ramie fiber having beautiful appearance.
PREPARATION: Stalk of ramie is boiled in water, put into a petri dish and poured with a medium containing boiled soup of ramie stalk to obtain a plate agar. Specimens obtained from various active sludges are smeared on the above plate agar, cultured and screened to separate the objective microbial strain.
