PURPOSE: To reduce wind noise produced in the case of recording sound in low frequency band in a microphone with narrow directivity.

CONSTITUTION: A microphone unit consists of a unit case 23 which is connected to one end of an acoustic pipe 22 and has a ring-like projection part 26 projecting toward the center in the inner surface, a diaphragm ring 29 which is inserted in the unit case 23 to support a diaphragm 31 toward the end surface in the axial direction, an insulating connection 32 which is abutted on the end surface of the diaphragm ring 29 in the unit case 23 and houses a back plate or the like, and a locking ring 33 which fixes the diaphragm ring 29 and the insulating connection 32 so that they are pressed against the projection part 26. A leakage path for air, i.e., a gap 38 between a front acoustic terminal and a rear acoustic terminal is formed in the unit case 23.
