PURPOSE: To permit the reservation of much substances to be dried in a preliminary chamber without enlarging the preliminary chamber and lengthening an exhaust pipe by a method wherein the substances to be dried, which are discharged out of a drying chamber, are diffused by a diffusing means.
CONSTITUTION: When a suction blower 16 is driven, substances to be dried 5 in a reserving tank 6 are induced and carried into a drying chamber 3. The substances to be dried 5 receive microwaves supplied from a magnetron 17 while being mixed by a mixing body 20 and are dried through microwave drying. The substances drop freely into a preliminary chamber 25, positioned below a discharging valve 22, through a discharging pipe 24 by the opening of the discharging valve 22, then, are reserved in the preliminary chamber 25. The discharging pipe 24 is connected to the central side of the drying chamber 3 on the upper wall 25a of the preliminary chamber 25 and, therefore, the length of the same is short. The substances to be dried 5 drop freely while biasing to the central side of the drying chamber 3 of the preliminary chamber 25, however, the substances hit respective slanted surfaces 26a, 26b, 26c of a diffusion metal 26 near the outlet port of the discharging pipe 24 and are diffused into all directions. According to this method, the substances to be dried 5 are reserved in a condition that the upper surface thereof becomes horizontal substantially and, therefore, much amount of the substances to be dried 5 can be reserved in the preliminary chamber 25 without enlarging the preliminary chamber 25.
