PURPOSE: To provide a thawing apparatus with which thawing is carried out without unevenness.

CONSTITUTION: A microwave heating apparatus is provided with a second blower 14 to blow outdoor air directly into a cooking chamber 2 and a suppressing means 15 to operate the second blower 14 additionally to the operation of a microwave generating device 3 and a first blower only at the time of thawing operation. Consequently, since outdoor air is directly blown on an object to be thawed, the surface of the object to be thawed is kept at almost the same temperature as the outdoor temperature and temperature unevenness among the center part and corners is eliminated and boiling is prevented. Also, in the inside, the thawing of the not yet thawed parts is accelerated by heat transmission from the surface. As a result, a problem in a conventional thawing case carried out only by microwaves: boiling occurs in the corners of an object to be thawed due to over thawing and to the contrary the center part is not thawed sufficiently and hard to be cut by a kitchen knife: is solved.
