Title:
MILLING MACHINE WITH BUILT-IN NUMERICALLY CONTROL UNIT WITH WORK POSITIONING MEANS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3453568
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a milling machine which can position a work on a table accurately and efficiently and improves productivity by reducing the moving time of the table before the start of machining in machining only the two faces of the work, which oppose to each other.
SOLUTION: This milling machine is provided with a built-in type numerically control unit to perform milling to four faces, front, back, right and left faces, of the rectangular work 2 and only the two faces, right and left faces, selectively after performing specified positioning of the work. This machine is provided with a table 16, whose movement is controlled in the longitudinal direction by the numerically control unit 2 and which can be rotated around its perpendicular axis, and first and second heads 9 and 10, whose movements are controlled in the cross direction by the numerically control unit 2. This machine is also provided with a first abutting member 41 for positioning the work 2 in the cross direction, a second abutting member 21 for positioning the work 2 in the longitudinal direction, a work front end detecting unit 56 in performing two face machining, and a measuring device 23 to measure the dimensions of the positioned work 2 in the right and left direction.
