Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04352859
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a mineral fiber felt substrate for soil-less cultivation which has excellent shrinkage resistance and deformation resistance and is constituted of a mineral fiber felt that fibers having a diameter outside the defined range are included at a certain percentage or more.

CONSTITUTION: A substrate for soil-less cultivation is constituted of a mineral fiber felt in which the percentage of fibers having a diameter outside the defined range (plus and minus 50% of the mean diameter of the fibers) is ≥30% or preferably ≥50%. The objective substrate is preferably the felt constituted of glass fibers, which preferably has <50 kg/m3 bulk density.
