Abstract:
To provide a mining machine and an autonomous traveling system that are able to achieve safe traveling with the minimum required number of external sensors.SOLUTION: A front external sensor 9, a left side external sensor 10, a right side external sensor 11, and a rear external sensor 12 are mounted on a mining machine 1 that autonomously travels in a mine. The front external sensor 9, the left side external sensor 10, the right side external sensor 11, and the rear external sensor 12 are disposed such that a detection range includes a stoppable range when the stoppable range of the mining machine 1 is set by: maximum reachable areas 604, 605 of the mining machine 1 at the time of maximum braking obtained based on a relation between a preset speed area and a maximum steering angle set in advance; a steady turn inviolable area 606 into which the mining machine 1 cannot enter when the mining machine 1 turns at the maximum steering angle; and a line segment 608 that is parallel to a direction of a vehicle body 2 and connects an end point 607 of the maximum reachable area 604 and the steady turn inviolable area 606.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
