To provide a mirror finishing method and a grooving method of a film-like work by fly cutting.
The mirror finishing method includes the steps of: measuring an error amount at a mounting position after mounting a cutting tool to a jig; attaching the jig to a rotation main shaft; determining tentative relative coordinates of the work with respect to the rotation main shaft on the basis of a piece of processing information and the error amount of the mounting position; forming a groove in a dummy work by causing the dummy work to make a relative movement with respect to the rotation main shaft on the basis of the tentative relative coordinates; taking an image of the groove; analyzing an error amount of the processing result on the basis of the image; determining relative coordinates of the work after correcting the tentative relative coordinates so that the error amount of the processing result is smaller; and causing the work to make a relative movement with respect to the rotation main shaft on the basis of the relative coordinates so that the cutting tool forms a mirror surface on a side end face of the work.
