PURPOSE: To enhance the quality of winding of a wire by calculating dislocation of wire in the horizontal direction during winding geometrically, comparing the calculated results, sensing turbulence in winding, thereby eliminating wasteful operations such as winding-back to be caused by turbulence in winding and thus facilitating automation of winding in alignment.
CONSTITUTION: The number of turns of a wire is counted by a winding rotation sensor 7, and when a certain specific number is attained, the wire position in actual winding is measured using a traverse location sensor 9. It is judged if there is turbulence in winding through comparison of the wire position detected value with its reference value. Thus any dislocation of wire in the horizontal direction can be calculated geometrically and compared, so that eventual turbulence during aligned winding, or particularly at the time of shifting in winding, can be surely detected. This should eliminate wasteful operations such as winding-back to be caused by turbulences, and use of this sensing method facilitates automation of aligned winding to lead to enhancement of the quality of the winding.
