Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mitochondrial uncoupling promoting agents of adipocytes by which the mechanism of action which enhances particularly the function of uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) can uncouple mitochondria of adipocytes.SOLUTION: A mitochondrial uncoupling promoting agent of adipocytes contains Cyclolepis genistoides Don. or a processed product thereof as an active ingredient. Preferably, for Cyclolepis genistoides Don., a coarsely ground product of above-grounds parts, such as a stem, leaf, and branch of a plant body, is extracted with hot water or hydrous alcohol to be used. The present invention is useful for e.g., reducing visceral fat, increasing basal metabolism, and increasing skeletal muscle.SELECTED DRAWING: None
