Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a plasticizer exhibiting excellent low volatility, oil- resistance, water-resistance and electrical properties when compounded in a resin and to provide a 10C mixed alcohol for plasticizer to give such plasticizer performance.

CONSTITUTION: A mixed alcohol having the following composition and a carboxylic acid ester plasticizer produced by using the alcohol. 81wt.%≤2PHO <95wt.%, 5.0wt.%<4MPH0+5MPH0 ≤18wt.% and MEHO+IPHO≤1.0wt.%, wherein 2PH0, 4MPH0, MEHO, 5MPH0 and IPHO represent the amounts of 2-propyl-1-heptanol, 4-methyl-2-propyl-1-hexanol, 2-methyl-2-ethyl-1-heptanol, 5-methyl-2-propyl-1-hexanol and 2-isopropyl-1-heptanol, respectively.
