Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a mixed culture medium having a suitable pH and moisture and useful for cultivating fruit vegetables such as cucumbers by mixing peat- moss with rock wool granular cotton and scattering a nonionic surfactant on the resultant mixture.
CONSTITUTION: This mixed culture medium is constituted of a mixture of (A) 20-40wt.% peat-moss with (B) 80-60wt.% rock wool granular cotton and (C) a nonionic surfactant. The component (C) is scattered and applied to the mixture of the components (A) with (B) or scattered on the component (A) before the mixing. Thereby, the component (A) is made hydrophilic and the basicity due to the component (B) is neutralized.
