Abstract:
PURPOSE: A mixture for pavement highly safe to a traffic load and excellent in flow resistance, which is obtd. by kneading a paste consisting of an asphalt emulsion and a hydraulic material with a heated aggregate.
CONSTITUTION: 1W10pts.wt. (in terms of the distillation residue) asphalt emulsion such as a straight asphalt emulsion contg. about 60wt% distillation residue of about 40W300 penetration at 25°C is mixed with 1pt.wt. hydraulic material such as cement or gypsum to form a paste. Then about 20W3wt% said paste is added to and kneaded for about 30W60sec with about 80W97wt% aggregate such as ballast, river sand or powdered stone heated to about 105W180°C by use of a mixer such as a pug mill to prepare a mixture for pavement.
