Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a MIZUHIKI (red-and-white paper strings for tying presents) having processability, shape-retainability and weather resistance and giving luxury feeling by winding a thin strip of a specific composite film having metallized noble metal layer on a twist paper string and bonding and integrating the parts.

CONSTITUTION: A metallized layer of a noble metal consisting of silver, gold or an alloy composed mainly of the silver or gold is formed on the back surface of a polyethylene terephthalate film having a colored resin coating film on the top surface. A rust-proofing resin coating film containing a rust-proofing agent such as benzotriazole and an adhesive layer or an adhesive layer containing a rust-proofing agent are laminated on the metallized layer and the laminate is further laminated with an aluminum foil to obtain a composite film having metallized noble metal layer. The composite metallized film is slit to thin strips, wound on a twist paper string and integrated by bonding to obtain a MIZUHIKI.
