In a mobile elevator device in which a winding drum type hoist 4 is mounted on a car 1, and the car 1 is elevated/lowered along a guide rail 2 arranged in a hoistway 6 by a first hoisting rope 5 with one end fixed to a top part of the hoistway 6 and the other end directly wound around a winding drum sheave 4a of the winding drum type hoist 4, the winding drum type hoist 4 is mounted on the lower side of a bottom part of the car 1 so that an end face of the winding drum sheave 4a with the first hoisting rope 5 wound therearound is located outside the projection area in the perpendicular direction of the car 1.
