When finding out a defect such as a bug in a program stored in an EPROM or flash memory 32, a mobile phone manufacturer 3 transmits a packet for informing of the correction of the program to the mobile information terminal 1 whose program correction is required via a communication network 5, transmits the correction program encrypted by a private key to a terrestrial digital broadcast station 2, the terrestrial digital broadcast station 2 broadcasts the correction program over a prescribed transmission frequency when the transmission start time of the correction program comes, and the mobile information terminal 1 receives the correction program via a broadcast reception antenna 11 and rewrites the program stored in the EPROM or flash memory 32.
