Abstract:

To improve security in electronic settlement by improving the reliability of card information transmitted from a mobile terminal.

When a user executes an operation for transmitting credit card information, a cell-phone handset 20 senses the operation (S41) and confirms whether the identification code of an in-area and out-of-area status flag indicates "out-of-area" by referring to the in-area and out-of-area status flag (S42). The cell-phone handset 20 transmits information indicating that is out of the area, a period during which it is out of the area, and card information to a settlement server 60 via a POS terminal 50 (S43). The settlement server 60 executes a settlement based on the information indicating that it is out of the area, the time period during which it is out of the area, and the card information (S44).
